Fairfax Carpet Company was founded in 1999 by Gregory and Mark Walcoff. Gregory Walcoff has been involved in the design trade floor covering market since 1984. His experience and expertise in the floor covering market has allowed him to expand his customer base and experience that is rivaled by very few.
Mark Walcoff has been involved in the manufacturing side of the floor covering industry since 1979. From broadloom to resilient floor manufacturing, Mark has covered the spectrum.
In 1999 the brothers got together and decided to open Fairfax Discount Carpets, Inc., on Fairfax & Blackburn Blvd.
After the opening of The Grove, the store was moved to its present location in the heart of the Los Angeles Design District - @ 657 S. LaBrea Ave. With the location change, Gregory & Mark decided to change the name as well, and Fairfax Carpet Company was born.
After outgrowing the Fairfax Avenue location, the Walcoffs considered relocation, but in the end they realized that Fairfax Carpet Company belonged in the neighborhood it had grown from, and they decided to stay and plan to remain a fixture in the community for years to come.
